Migrating a webshop from Angular to Shopify
Liveshopper is the ultimate e-commerce sales tool where viewers can shop in-stream and interact with brands in real time. As a company passionate about creating the best live shopping experience through e-commerce, they wanted to migrate their platform to Shopify. Kvalifilk was tasked with this migration ensuring a seamless transition from a hard-coded Angular page to a Shopify 2.0 with sections and easy usability.
The challenge was to perform a 1-1 migration from Angular to Shopify, maintaining the same level of functionality and accuracy in the process. Several of Liveshopper's customers were using Shopify, why the team at Liveshopper wanted to become more familiar with the platform and its possibilities. By migrating the website this way, they would be able to test all features on their own site before launching to new customers. This was valuable for Liveshopper because they could ensure that the quality was living up to their goals before publishing.
Kvalifik carried out the migration from the old platform to Shopify, making sure that all the existing data and functionality was preserved. After setting up the Shopify store and choosing a theme, we started coding each section to look exactly as the Angular website, so no differences would be visible. Liveshoppers own app was accessible through an external link accessed when clicking "Login".
The migration from Angular to Shopify was completed successfully, with no impact on the existing customer base. The new Shopify site was faster, more user-friendly, and allowed employees with no code experience to make changes in the front-end and back-end. The Liveshopper team was thrilled with the results, and we continue to work with the team on a regular basis to maintain and update their site. We are helping with custom sections and best practices.
